Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Spoons. Valentine’s Day is around the corner! Get ready for a simple and fun gift when you make these easy Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Spoons. What a sweet treat for friends and family.
Valentine’s is the season for love and giving gifts to the ones we love! Allow the kids to get involved with this simple recipe this year. All you need are a few simple supplies and ingredients.
Makes approximately 10-12 Chocolate Covered Spoons. If you need more, a little math will be required by double or triple the recipe below.
1/2 Cup White Baking Chips
Vanilla Almond Bark – 4 Squares (2oz each/8oz total)
Small ziplock bags or pipping bags.
Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
Place Almond Bark and baking chips in a microwave safe bowl. ( I use my Pyrex glass measuring cup)
Melt in microwave for 1 minute and then stir.
Continue with 30 second intervals in the microwave until chocolate mix is fully melted. Stir in between time sets.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the white almond bark mix in a ziplock bag and set aside (this will be your first pipping bag)
Dip half of the plastic spoons in the melted White Almond bark mix.
Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
For the pink spoons, add 3 drops of pink food coloring into the remainder of your White Almond bark mix and stir. You now have a pink Almond Bark mixture.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the pink Almond Bark mixture in a ziplock bag and set a side (this will be your second pipping bag)
Continue to dip the remaining spoons and place on the parchment lined cookie sheet.
Once your dipped spoons are lined up, cut the tip of your first white almond bark pipping bag and drizzle back and forth for a layered effect on top of the pink dipped spoons. Repeat the process with your second pipping bag (pink) and drizzle back and forth across the white dipped spoons.
Decorate with your favorite sprinkles.
Place spoons on the parchment lined cookie sheet in the refrigerator for one hour or until set.
Wrap in candy treat bags for an extra special touch.
The kids loved stirring their hot chocolate with these spoons while I used mine in my coffee. Yum!
Tips for making hot chocolate Spoons
Make sure the chocolate is melted thoroughly. You want to make sure the chocolate is smoothly melted before you use it or you are going to end up with chunky chocolate on the spoon.
How to Store Chocolate Dipped Spoons
Store in an air tight container. I keep mine in the refrigerator but you can also store on the kitchen counter.
